The General Authority of Customs participated in the World Diabetes Day events by conducting a comprehensive awareness campaign, in cooperation with Qatar Diabetes Association, to brief Customs employees on the risks of diabetes and how to avoid it.

The QDA said, in a statement, that it aims through this event to stress the concept of social responsibility and participation of different state institutions in its important annual activities and celebrations.

The campaign included paying awareness visits to all the marine, land and air ports of the country and distributing pamphlets to all employees in these ports to enhance such awareness.

Qatar Diabetes Association laid out a four-day program, where a field visit was conducted each day to a customs port. The program also included a medical checkup for the employees, in addition to lectures on the symptoms of the disease and ways of prevention.
