Bawasil Camp is one of the highlights of QDA events targeting children newly diagnosed with diabetes to offer them the best experience of “life with diabetes” through different educational and fun activities.

 

The camp annually hosts around 50 -60 children with diabetes and 20 nurses/educators from Qatar and the MENA region.

 

A team of doctors, nurses, diabetes educators, dietitians and social specialists prepare for and run the camp with the aim to offer an unforgettable week for all.

 

The mission of this camp is to provide children with diabetes the opportunity to handle the emotional and physical pain caused by diabetes, tap into their potential to cope positively with the disease and develop the confidence to take in hand some of the day-to-day self-care tasks.
