Qatar Diabetes Association organizes two camps during April

In line with Qatar Foundation’s mission to unlocking human potentials, and in celebration of the world health day on 8th April, Qatar Diabetes Association, member of Qatar Foundation, organizes Al Tahadi Camp for boys with type1 diabetes. The camp includes a variety of activities related to diabetes education and many a selective medical, nutrition and psychological workshops. The camp will start on Saturday 9th April for five full days in SPORTAL hotel of Al Sheqab, Qatar Foundation where a safe environment is provided for the camp participants.

A number of 29 type 1 boys are participating in the 6th edition of Al Tahadi Camp. The 29 are mix of participants from Qatar and GCC countries.

The aim of this camp is to improve the boys skills about diabetes self-management. These skills will be supported by a qualified number of experts from the Qatar Diabetes Association.

In addition to al Tahadi camp and under the awareness camps that QDA provides. A prevention camp including 20 participants will start immediately after the Tahadi Camp and will take place in the same hotel in the Education City.

These camps are considered as first of its kind in GCC . aim to help the teenagers to know the importance of the healthy diet and how to be able to choose the right meal along with doing the exercises needed to live the healthy life and avoiding developing diabetes in the future.

The prevention camp helps to spread the awareness about obesity and how it affects the health

The camp will take place in Sportal Hotel of Qatar Foundation and starts in 14th April for three days.
